Carol Ravantti-Lalla

Carol works primarily in oils and acrylics on canvas, but enjoys working with watercolor, pastels, and pen & ink as well. She’s predominately a self-taught artist using a style of realism. Although offered a full Art Scholarship for fashion design in Manhattan when she was 17, after a few classes she was not able to accept it.  Carol is a first generation Long Island, NYC gal whose European parents met and lived in NYC. “My Dad put a paint brush in my hand before a pencil, and I never put it down” until circumstances lead her to make a career in business instead of art. Nevertheless, whenever she could, she would paint. Carol was commissioned over the years to paint canvases in a variety of subjects as well as murals which she thoroughly enjoyed. She exhibited infrequently and sold her work privately.

Since moving to Florida 26 years ago, her inspiration has mostly been drawn from local tropical subjects.

“The colors here are so vivid, varying depending on the time day, and beg to be put on canvas. I feel one must always follow their heart and feed their soul. Life gets in the way but I don’t let the yearning go unanswered. We are meant to create and use our imaginations – how wonderful! My passion is painting in this driving force. It brings me much joy and hopefully a little to you as well.”
