In her work, Jane attempts to paint and explore natural places. As a plein air painter, she cannot think of anything better than painting outdoors in nature. As a Master Naturalist, Jane loves to hike and observe the systems and habitats that support our native species of animals and flora. Putting together lines and color to create texture and form in a landscape is magical.
Surrounded by water here in Brevard county, Jane takes inspiration from the reflections, movement, and play of light on the ocean and the Indian River Lagoon. She has had many teachers and artists that have inspired and influenced her work. Artists such as Charles Duch, Richard McKinley, Michael Johnson and Nancy Blair are just a few who continue to inform and inspire Jane as an artist.
