Karen Chadbourne’s “Going Yupo” Opening

Gallery member Karen Chadbourne is “Going Yupo”

Yupo has a silky sheen that is recyclable and very versatile for many types of art. For this show, I have chosen to use watercolor to create my paintings on this interesting surface.  At an early age I became interested in painting but did not get serious until 1987. After many classes and workshops in oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolor, I joined local galleries and museums to display my paintings. My favorite style is impressionist painting but with a more colorful flair.

Most of my life I lived in New England, but moved to Melbourne Beach in 2011.  Shortly after moving here I joined the Art & Antique Studio, a fine art gallery that is artists’ owned on Highland Avenue in the Eau Gallie Art District. This a wonderful cooperative gallery with very talented award winning artists that has played a major role in the art scene here in Brevard County.
