While growing up in Hillsdale, NJ, some of Barbara’s earliest memories include the love of painting and drawing…

…but it was only after graduating from Duke University in 1970 and while teaching Latin in the Virginia public school system that she began to pursue her real passion, art. Working in oil, watercolor, pastels, and mixed media, she studied with such nationally known teachers as John Brady, Florence Thomas, Ray Yoder and Charles McCurry of the Ringling School of Art. In the summer of 1978, she studied painting and drawing at the Slade School of Art in London.

A signature member of the American Impressionist Society, Barbara has received numerous awards, and her work is represented in both corporate and private collections in the United States. Barbara enjoys painting the Florida scenes she has come to know and love, but she also paints portraits and murals and gladly accepts commissions.
