Karen Chadbourne

About Karen

Karen started painting in 1987 with acrylics…

… for about a year, taking classes with Howard Connelly. She started taking oil classes in 1988 from C. Russell Neagle. Falling in love with oils, she continued with that medium, attending classes for over ten years.

Karen is an elected artist member of the Lyme Art Association, the oldest continuing art colony in the United States. Childe Hassam, Willard Metcalf, and Carleton Wiggins were some of the founding members of the American Impressionist movement in Lyme, Connecticut. She recently moved to Melbourne Beach and is a clinical scientist at Viera Hospital. “I enjoy painting mostly landscapes, seascapes, and especially the wetland areas. I consider myself a Contemporary Impressionist and I love the vibrant colors of Florida.
